Bangkok, Thailand — Middleton International School Bangkok (MISB) officially marked its debut at a media launch event held at the InterContinental Bangkok, introducing its vision for a future-ready, trilingual international education to parents and the press.

A Strategic Launch in Pinklao

Speaking at the launch, Ng Yi-Xian, Group CEO of EtonHouse International Education Group, described the decision to establish the school in Pinklao as a strategic one.

“The decision to establish a school in Pinklao wasn’t just about location; it reflected a strategic perspective. The area is a family-friendly residential neighborhood with long-term growth potential and is conducive to building a learning community. Furthermore, we see Thailand as a strategic hub in Asia, connecting many countries, ” said Ng Yi-Xian.

He added that Thailand represents an important hub in Asia, reinforcing the Group’s regional expansion strategy.

Inquiry-Based Pedagogy with Global Frameworks

MISB adopts an inquiry-based approach inspired by Reggio Emilia, viewing educators as researchers and co-constructors of knowledge who curate meaningful learning experiences, environments and provocations that deepen children’s thinking. The academic structure also integrates internationally recognised frameworks, including the International Primary Curriculum (UK) and Singapore Mathematics with a trilingual programme in English, Thai and Mandarin.

Students will also benefit from EtonHouse Global Classrooms, connecting families across nine countries through cultural exchange and experiential learning.

Reggio Emilia-Inspired Inquiry in Action

Learning experiences at MISB are shaped by the EtonHouse Inquire.Think.Learn curriculum, a research-informed framework inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. At Middleton, children’s ideas, questions and discoveries form the starting point of learning. Educators guide exploration through thoughtfully curated provocations that integrate literacy, numeracy and social-emotional development in meaningful ways. Supported by highly trained educators and ongoing professional development from in-house pedagogistas and Reggio Emilia specialists, these experiences nurture critical thinking, confidence, curiosity and empathy in every learner.

Singapore Mathematics and Academic Depth

A key academic strength highlighted during the launch was Singapore Mathematics, built on the belief that every child can understand mathematics. At MISB, this approach is delivered through inquiry-driven and child-led learning, where students explore concepts, ask questions and develop their own mathematical thinking.

Rather than focusing purely on answers, the approach develops structured thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills, foundations that have consistently placed Singapore among the top-performing education systems globally.

Trilingual Learning for Global Citizenship

MISB’s trilingual programme in English, Thai and Mandarin is designed to cultivate intellectual agility, cross-cultural fluency and global confidence from an early age. By engaging with multiple languages, students develop stronger cognitive flexibility, communication skills and the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts.

Among more than 100 international schools in Bangkok, MISB positions itself not around price competition but around value, offering a globally benchmarked programme that integrates international academic frameworks with meaningful local and regional perspectives.

Personalised Support and A Future-Ready Learning Pathway

Edward Wyn Jones, Principal of Middleton International School Bangkok, emphasised the school’s flexibility in supporting a mix of both local and international students, including structured language support where required.

“Children are able to learn and adapt much faster than adults, if given the right environment and proper support,” Ng Yi-Xian added.

MISB is currently enrolling students from Nursery 1 to Grade 4 and will progressively expand its grade levels to provide a full K12 learning pathway for students up to 18 years old.

The launch signals an important milestone for the EtonHouse International Education Group as it expands its presence in Thailand with a school designed to provide globally benchmarked education at accessible fees.
